Spectale uses cluster maps for the visualisation of ontological data and its dynamic exploration. The figure shows an example of a cluster map for a set of job offers. Each yellow sphere represents a job offer, and the green spheres represent ontology classes, with a label indicating their name and cardinality. Direct connections between ontology classes represent the ontological hierarchies, from specific to generic. Objects from the same class are grouped in clusters, graphically represented by a balloon. Overlaps (offers belonging to more classes) are represented in balloons connected to more classes.

In Spectale an interesting features is represented by the possibility to the user to dynamically select classes on the user preference, as seen in figure, where the user on the left part of the display can point and click which classes to consider in the representation, which immediately update the graph.
